              And Special Needs

                 +Intersections+

Christian Education and Special Needs at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

                                                        Auburn, IL

Welcome to Intersections!

This is a simple web page designed with one thing in mind:

to assist parents and leaders at Trinity who exercise their talents for the Lord  Jesus, knowing that He, 'the owner of the vineyard,' is soon returning for an accounting of all He has entrusted to us.

Since all the news, sign-up sheets, and schedules can be found under the Newsletter part of this Web page, this page is intended as a kind of "overview of the possibilities." Here you will find:

But why the title?

Well, for one thing we're located at the very prominent intersection of IL Hwys 104 and 4 in Sangamon County, (exit 82 off I-55) southwest of Springfield, the Illinois state capital.

For another thing, we're proud to say that our members interact (and their activities “intersect”) on a regular basis: altar guild and school board members, boy-scout leaders and coaches, volleyball players and confirmation students, coworkers in state government and friends in Christ, neighbors, aldermen and mayors.

Many of them call our church "home" and seek His righteousness in the manner our Lord has mandated: by the preaching and teaching of His Word and the reception of His grace in the sacraments.  There are many commonalities we share and this is no accident!  We believe that all of this is planned and orchestrated by our God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Father of our Lord Jesus.

Therefore, the "intersections" of our lives in the town of Auburn and in the surrounding townships, villages, colleges, and counties are an intentional part of God’s plan to redeem the world in Christ Jesus.  For this we praise Him, knowing our faults are many, but holding high that forgiveness we are given in His holy name. He has made it so that

“all the ends of the earth shall see

the salvation of our God.” (Isaiah 52:10)
